Abstract:[Abstract] Objective To evaluate the modified Sauve?-kapandji procedure combined with flexor carpi ulnaris fixation for obsolete dislocation of the distal radioulnar joint. Methods From October 2014 to October 2018, we treat 24 patients with obsolete dislocation of the distal radioulnar joint using the modified Sauve?-kapandji procedure combined with flexor carpi ulnaris fixation. All of them were followed with the range of motion of the wrist, Mayo scores, instability and impact pain of ulnar stump and the X-ray. Results All patients showed improved function of wrist joint. No instability and impact pain of ulnar stump were found. X-ray showed that all of the distal radioulnar joints were fused and there was no ulnar stump bone reconnection. Conclusion the modified Sauve?-kapandji procedure is a fine treatment for obsolete dislocation of the distal radioulnar joint. The stability of the ulnar stump can be further enhanced by the combination of flexor carpi ulnaris fixation.
