Abstract:Objective To analyze the factors of the postoperative efficacy for cubital tunnel syndrome. Methods Eighty-nine patients with cubital tunnel syndrome treated surgically in our hospital from December 2018 to June 2021 were retrospectively analyzed, including 63 males and 26 females. The mean age is 56.25(from 37 to 74).According to the Gu Yudong""s clinical classification standard for cubital tunnel syndrome, there were 9 mild cases, 49 moderate cases and 31 severe cases. At the last follow-up, the ulnar nerve recovery was evaluated according to the functional evaluation criteria of cubital tunnel syndrome, they were divided into the group with good postoperative efficacy (excellent, good) and the group with general postoperative efficacy (good, poor) for comparison, to analyze the factors of the postoperative efficacy for cubital tunnel syndrome.Potential factors included: age, gender, affected side, primary hypertension history, diabetes history, elbow injury history, severity of disease and whether or not with osteoarthritis of the elbow. The factors were identified using univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis. Results The average follow-up period was 26.5 months (from 18 to 36 months). At the last follow-up, the ulnar nerve recovery was excellent in 46 cases, good in 25 cases, fair in 11 cases, bad in 7 cases, with an excellent and good rate of 79.78%.Age(P=0.007), diabetes history(P=0.005), elbow injury history(P=0.001) and severity of disease (P=0.015) were identified as the independent risk factors influencing the postoperative efficacy for cubital tunnel syndrome. Conclusion when the patients who have those factors and were diagnosed with surgical indications should be treated as soon as possible so as to achieve the best postoperative efficacy.
