Abstract:Platelet-rich plasma ( PRP ) is a blood-derived product rich in platelets and growth factors isolated from venous blood. It is rich in a variety of growth factors and platelets. PRP is involved in delaying or repairing meniscus injury and reducing knee pain by promoting meniscus cell regeneration, increasing collagen synthesis, and regulating the internal microenvironment of the injured meniscus. The purpose of this paper is to summarize the characteristics of meniscus injury, the preparation and classification of PRP, the mechanism of PRP in repairing meniscus injury and the current situation and shortcomings of its application in meniscus injury, and to put forward the development direction of PRP in promoting meniscus repair in the future, so as to better guide clinical practice.
