Abstract:[Objective] To introduce the surgical technique and preliminary clinical results of reconstruction of medial patellofemoral ligament with shallow tunnel double loop fixation. [Methods] From January 2021 to January 2022, a total of 30 patients with patellar dislocation were treated with Reconstruction of medial patellofemoral ligament with shallow tunnel double loop fixation. Fistly, determine a suitable point on the medial upper edge of the patella and drill two guide pins with tail holes.Use a 4.5mm hollow drill to make two shallow tunnel with a length of about 5mm along the guide pin with tail holes. And make use of two pins with a tail hole to introduce a lead wire. Then place the two folded tendon wires, with the loop end and wire end reversed, into the lead wire and pull them into the tunnel. Lay up the tendon in the loop and tighten the other end of the tendon string so that the tendon is tightly attached to the shallow tunnel and tied for fixation. Finally, the tendon is pulled into the femoral tunnel for fixation.[Results] All patients had surgical procedures performed successfully without serious complications, and were followed up for 12-24 months. The ROM of knee,VAS, IKDC,patellar inclination angle and suitable angle significantly improved at the latest follow up compared with those before operation (P<0.05). [Conclusion] Reconstruction of medial patellofemoral ligament with shallow tunnel double loop fixation technique could achieve satisfactory clinical outcomes for patellar dislocation.
