Abstract:Projections indicated an increase in total joint arthroplasty (TJA) in the future. Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is one of the most common and devastating complications after TJA. Route of systemic or local administration of vancomycin is commonly used for the prevention of PJI in recent years. This review introduces the various administration methods of vancomycin in the prevention of PJI and the latest research progress on the safety and effectiveness of various methods.
