Abstract:[Objective] To summarize and analyze the character of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation of armed police officers and soldiers, and to explore the relevant problem of CT guided endoscopic discectomy(CTED). [Methods] A retrospective study was conducted on 92 armed police officers and soldiers who underwent CTED from June 2010 to December 2020. The perioperative data were recorded, and the clinical outcomes were assessed by using VAS,ODI,JOA scores and Macnab criteria. In addition, the disc height, lumbar lordosis angle and protuberance before and after operation were compared. [Results] All the 92 patients had revision CTED completed successfully, in terms of complications, there were 4 cases of residual numbness of the limbs, 2 cases of recurrence after operation. The follow-up period lasted for 6~130 months with an average of (52.3±38.3) months. The VAS and ODI scores decreased significantly(P<0.05), while JOA scores increased significantly over time (P<0.05). According to the Macnab criteria, the clinical results were graded as excellent in 91 patients, good in 1, fair and poor in 0 cases at the latest follow-up, with the excellent and good rate of 100%. In terms of imaging evaluation, the disc height reduced, the lumbar lordosis angle increased significantly and the protuberance decreased significantly after operation (P<0.05). [Conclusion] CTED has the advantages of minimally invasive, accurate, safe, fast recovery and good efficacy for treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation of armed police officers and soldiers.
