Abstract:Objective: Observe the clinical effect of modified hollow distraction screw in closed reduction treatment of calcaneal fractures. Method From December 2017 to December 2020, 22 patients with calcaneal intra-articular fractures were treated with a modified hollow expansion screw internal fixation method. First, the traditional osteopathy combined with steel pin prying was used to initially restore the length, width, and the angle of the calcaneus and accurate reduction the articular surface of the calcaneus. The hollow screw with improved thread spacing is used to embed and fix the calcaneal body and the compressed fracture end.Postoperative follow-up, the curative effect was evaluated according to the Maryland Foot Function Score System. Result All 24 cases (24feet) were followed up for 10-25 months, with an average of 19.1 months.There were no cases of infection after the operation, all cases of bone healing, and no complications such as traumatic arthritis.According to the ZhangTie-liang foot function scoring system, 4 cases were scored 100 points, 7 cases were 99 points, 8 cases were 97 points, 1 case was 93 points, 2 case was 85 points, and 2 cases were 74 points. The excellent and good rate was 91.9%.
