Abstract:[Objective] To compare the effects of vertical figure 8 tight suture and Allg?wer-Donati suture on incision healing and complications after calcaneal fractures. [Methods] A retrospective study was conducted on 60 patients who had calcaneal fractures from January 2018 to February 2021. 60 cases were treated with an "L"-shaped incision on the lateral side of the calcaneus. Among them, there were 31 cases in the vertical figure 8 tight suture group and 29 cases in the Allg?wer-Donati suture group. The area of inflammatory reaction around the surgical incision in the two groups was calculated, the skin temperature at the curved corner of the incision was recorded and analyzed, and the degree of incision healing was compared. [Results] There was no significant difference in the skin temperature of the incision between the two groups before and on the 1st day after the operation (P>0.05). Two weeks after the operation, there was a statistically significant difference in the area of skin inflammation around the incision between the two groups (P<0.05). The excellent and good rate of incision healing in vertical figure 8 tight suture group was 90.32% (28/31), while that in Allg?wer-Donati group was 68.96% (20/29), and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). [Conclusion] The vertical figure 8 tight suture method is a simple and effective suture method to improve the healing rate of the incision and reduce the complications of the incision.
