Abstract:Abstract:[Objective] Separate vertical 5# Ethibond polyester suture technique to treat comminuted fracture of distal pole of patella, and evaluate its clinical effect.[Methods] From August 2018 to November 2020, 34 cases of comminuted fracture of distal pole of patella were treated with the separate vertical 5# Ethibond polyester suture technique. The imaging evaluation included fracture re-displacement and fracture healing, and the function evaluation used the Bostman Patella Fracture Function Score.[Results] All patients in this group were followed up for 12-15 months (mean 13 months). The incisions healed smoothly. There was no significant re-displacement of the X-ray fracture, and the average fracture healing time was 8 weeks (6-12 weeks). The Bostman score at 12 months after operation was 27.84±2.36, of which 29 cases were excellent and 5 cases were good. The excellent and good rate was 100%.[Conclusion] Separate vertical 5# Ethibond polyester suture technique to treat comminuted fracture of distal pole of patella has satisfactory clinical effect, simple clinical application and strong repeatability.
