Abstract:Abstract:Osteoporotic femoral neck fracture is a serious complication of osteoporosis. Due to the low bone mass and poor bone quality at the fracture site, the internal fixation is prone to loose, prolapse and fracture nonunion and other serious complications. Therefore, the internal fixation surgical treatment of osteoporotic femoral neck fracture is challenging. With the deepening of biomechanical research and the development of internal fixation materials and design, the therapy idea is constantly updated. The choice of internal fixation device and the refinement of fixation mode have crucial impacts on the prognosis. Understanding the biomechanical characteristics, technical key points of various internal fixation devices plays a decisive role in the successful completion of the operation. This paper reviews the domestic and foreign researches on the operative timing, internal fixation options and complications of internal fixation for osteoporotic femoral neck in recent years, providing reference for orthopedic surgeons and researchers.
