Abstract:[Objective] To introduce the surgical technique and clinical effect of 3D printing personalized prosthesis in the treatment of complex acetabular defects in hips revision. [Method] Eleven patients with complex acetabular defects underwent hip revision with personalized acetabular prosthesis. The posterior lateral incision of the hip was performed to fully expose the acetabulum. The acetabular prosthesis was fixed in multiple dimensions by long screws and its anatomical alignment was reconstructed. [Result] All 11 patients completed the operation successfully without serious complications. The patients were followed up for 36 months. At the last follow-up, the pain and function of the hip were significantly improved compared with those before operation. The average VAS pain score and Harris score of hip function were (0.82±0.40) and (86.82±2.48). Survival rate of pterygoid acetabular prosthesis was 100% within 36 months. [Conclusion] The clinical effect of 3D printing personalized prosthesis in the treatment of complex acetabular defects in hip revision surgery is good.
