Abstract:Calcaneal fracture is common but complex, and improper treatment will significantly decrease patients' quality of life. Open reduction with the lateral L-shaped incision of the calcaneus is considered the "gold standard operation", however, the minimally invasive treatment of calcaneal fracture is the research direction of many scholars because this classical surgical method can be accompanied by serious soft tissue complications. Calcanail? was reported as a kind of interlocking nail for calcaneal fractures recently, and was used for minimally invasive treatment of calcaneal fractures, which achieved good fixation effect and effectively reduced the soft tissue complications of calcaneal fractures. This paper reviewed the current application of Calcanail? for calcaneal fracture.
