Abstract:[Objective] To investigate the effect of arthroscopic single row fixation of large rotator cuff tears. [Methods] 24 patients with large rotator cuff tears were treated by arthroscopic repair from January 2019 to June 2020. The tear size was 3 to 5 cm arthroscopically. Arthroscopic repair was performed with 2 to 3 single row metal fixation. Visual analogue scale (VAS) and University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) functional score were used to evaluate the effect. [Results]All incisions were healed without nerve injury. 22 cases were followed up and 2 cases were lost. MRI showed execellent healing. 2 cases retears, but the function was execellent. No fixation was pulled out. The VAS score decreased from 6.6 ± 1.9 preoperatively to 2.2 ± 0.9 postoperatively (P < 0.05), and the UCLA score increased from 12.50 ± 4.1 preoperatively to 30.9 ± 1.7 postoperatively (P < 0.05). [Conclusion] Arthroscopic repair of large rotator cuff tear with single row fixation has the advantages of simple operation, short operation time, good effect, low cost and short learning curve, which is an ideal method to repair large rotator cuff injury.
