Abstract:[Abstract] Objective: To introduce the surgical technique and preliminary clinical results of oblique interbody fusion and unilateral pedicle screw fixation in the same position. Method: From July 2018 to June 2019, 43 cases of lumbar degenerative diseases were treated with lateral lumbar interbody fusion combined with unilateral pedicle screw fixation in the same position. There were 20 males and 23 females, aged from 40 to 71 years old, with an average of (57.2±10.0) years old. Before operation, the C-arm was fluoroscopically positioned, and the left anterolateral part of the abdomen was marked along the space between the external oblique muscle and the lumbar muscle. During operation, lumbar interbody fusion combined with unilateral pedicle screw fixation was performed according to the determined point. Result:A total of 86 pedicle screws were inserted, and the accuracy rate was 96.5%. One year after operation, CT scan showed that the fusion rate was 100%. There was no severe nerve and blood vessel injury. There were 2 patients with left anteromedial thigh numbness after operation, but the symptoms were significantly improved within 6 months after operation. Conclusions: Oblique lumbar interbody fusion in the same position and unilateral pedicle screw fixation in the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases can simplify the operation process, save operation time, and has high safety and good clinical efficacy
