Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of tibial transverse transfer technique in the treatment of traumatic wounds of foot and ankle in the elderly. Methods: from January 2019 to June 2020, there were 13 patients in our hospital, including 8 male patients, 5 female patients, 8 left ankle foot patients and 5 right ankle foot patients, aged 62~78.5 years, with an average age of 68.3 years. The area of traumatic wound ranged from 8cm × 6cm to 20cm × 13cm, with an average size of 10cm × 8cm. All patients were accompanied with diabetes, hypertension and respiratory diseases 13 patients were treated with tibial transverse transposition technique, and the best indication of skin flap repair was excluded. Results: 13 cases of elderly foot and ankle trauma wounds were healed by tibial transverse moving technique, the wound healing time was 35~90 days, and the removal time of transverse moving stent was 1~2 months. During the treatment, only one patient developed needle tract infection, and the needle tract improved after dressing change. There were no cases of bone necrosis, bone nonunion, wound infection and skin necrosis. All patients were followed up for 6~12 months after discharge There was no recurrence after wound healing. Conclusion: tibial transverse transfer technique can effectively promote wound healing, significantly shorten the treatment time, reduce side injury, and reduce the recurrence rate in elderly patients with foot and ankle traumatic wounds, which is a way worthy of promotion in clinical treatment of elderly patients with foot and ankle traumatic wounds.
