Abstract:[Objective]To explore the feasibility of using external fixator to treat femoral intertrochanteric fracture patients requiring hemodialysis. [Method] From April 2016 to April 2020,sixteen patients suffering from femoral intertrochanteric fracture and requiring regular hemodialysis treatment were analyzed.Under local anesthesia, the patient was given closed reduction, percutaneous pin fixation and external fixator to treat the fracture. intraoperative hemorrhage was counted; fracture healing was observed at 12 weeks after operation, and then removing external fixator;Six months later, the hip joint function was evaluated by follow-up. [Results]Femoral intertrochanteric fracture of all patients requiring hemodialysis treated by external fixator get bony healing at 12 weeks. The hemorrhage during operation was(4.6~23.0)ml, with an average of (11.92±5.95)ml. According to the Sanders scores of the hip joint function after half a year followed up,excellent was in 22 cases, good was in 2 cases, fair was in 2 cases, failure was in 0 cases. [Conclusion]External fixator is used to treat femoral intertrochanteric fracture requiring hemodialysis, which is a feasible and effective method.
