Abstract:Abstract:[Objective] to compare the clinical efficacy of proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) and intertan in the treatment of elderly intertrochanteric fractures.[Methods] a total of 107 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture treated in our hospital from January 2019 to June 2020 were retrospectively studied. Among them, 61 patients were treated with PFNA and 46 patients were treated with intertan. The perioperative period, follow-up and imaging data of the two groups were compared .[Results] The average follow-up time of the two groups was 13.5 months. The total hospitalization time of intertan group was shorter than that of PFNA group (P<0.05). The operation time, total incision length, intraoperative blood loss and intraoperative fluoroscopy times of PFNA group were significantly better than those of intertan group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in incision healing grade between the two groups (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in walking time, VAS score at 3 months after operation and at the last follow-up between the two groups (P>0.05). Intertan group was superior to PFNA group in total weight-bearing activity time, hip flexion and extension ROM at 3 months after operation and Harris score at 3 months after operation (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in hip flexion and extension ROM and Harris score at the last follow-up between the two groups (P>0.05). The fracture healing time of intertan group was earlier than that of PFNA group (P<0.05). The occurrence of varus deformity, shortening deformity and reduction of apical distance of intertan group was significantly less than that of PFNA group (P<0.05). All patients were healed at the last follow-up.[Conclusions] PFNA group was better than intertan group in operation time, incision length, intraoperative blood loss and intraoperative fluoroscopy times, while intertan group needed less time for postoperative fracture healing and the incidence of postoperative complications than PFNA group.
