Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of platelet rich plasma combined with Kessler suture on Achilles tendon rupture and ankle function. Methods: The clinical data of 102 patients with Achilles tendon rupture from January 2018 to October 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. 50 patients were treated with Kessler suture and divided into suture group, 52 patients were treated with platelet rich plasma combined with Kessler suture and divided into combination group. The length of hospital stay and complications were recorded, and the AOFAS ankle function score was used to evaluate the curative effect. Results: The excellent and good rate of ankle function recovery in the combined group was higher than that in the suture group (P<0.05), and the time of normal activity recovery was shorter than that in the suture group (P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Conclusion: Platelet rich plasma combined with Kessler suture is effective in the treatment of Achilles tendon rupture. It has the advantages of less complications, fast healing and good ankle function recovery.
