Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of locking plate for the Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fracture. Methods: From September 2014 to January 2019, 16 cases of Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fracture were treated by locking plate. The perioperative status and follow-up results of the patients were recorded. Results: All 16 cases were successfully accepted the operation and follow-up. The length of the surgical incision was (12.50±1.45) cm, the operation time was (133.75±18.21) min, the blood loss during the operation was (493.75±83.42) ml, and the incision fat liquefaction occurred in 1 case after operation. The postoperative follow-up time was (22.52±5.04) months, the fracture healing time was (7.88±1.15) months; the last follow-up VAS (0.50±0.63) was significantly lower than the preoperative VAS (7.38±0.96), the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); hip joint extension and flexion ROM (135.88±6.30)°; According to the Harris score of the hip joint, the total score is 73 to 95 points, with an average of (88.19±6.28) points. Among them, 10 cases were excellent, 5 cases were good, and 1 case was fair. The excellent and good rate was 93.7%. Conclusion: Subtrochanteric Seinsheimer type V fractures are difficult to reduce. Locking plating is a safe and effective surgical method with good fracture healings and satisfactory clinical results.
