Abstract:The ankle joint is the main load-bearing joint of the human body, which belongs to the mortise and tenon structure and is highly matched. Its stability and flexibility are very important to the movement of the human body. Open dislocation of the ankle is a rare high-energy injury with a low incidence. It was first reported by Peraire in 1913 [1]. It is usually associated with fractures around the ankle [2], but simple dislocation without fracture is even more rare. Recently, a patient with open simple total dislocation of the ankle was treated in our hospital, and the effect was satisfactory through early and thorough debridement, one-stage repair of ligament and plaster external fixation, which is reported as follows.
