At present, the characteristics of tibial plateau fractures in the elderly are not well understood, and the choice of treatment methods is still controversial. The proportion of elderly tibial plateau fractures in tibial plateau fractures increased gradually, and the most common injury was traffic accident. Mild violence can lead to tibial plateau fractures, and low violence can easily lead to complex tibial plateau fractures. Tibial plateau fracture with ligament or meniscus injury is relatively rare in the elderly.The treatment of tibial plateau fractures in the elderly includes conservative treatment, internal fixation, external fixation or total knee arthroplasty. This article aims to summarize the characteristics and treatment of the elderly tibial plateau, and help clinicians improve the understanding of the elderly tibial plateau and choose the best treatment.
