Abstract:[Objective] To investigate the surgical technique and primary clinical results of endoscopic posterior cervical unilateral laminectomy in the treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy. [Methods] From January 2017 to October 2019, 7 patients who underwent endoscopic posterior cervical unilateral laminectomy for cervical spondylotic myelopathy were included for this retrospective analysis. The curative effect of patients was evaluated by the Japanese orthopedic association (JOA) scoring system and the visual analogue scale (VAS). [Results] All 7 patients had endoscopic posterior cervical unilateral laminectomy performed smoothly without serious complications. Compared with pre-operation, the upper and lower limb VAS score decreased significantly from 3 months after surgery, whereas the JOA score increased significantly from 6 months after surgery, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). [Conclusion] Endoscopic posterior cervical unilateral laminectomy can be used as a reliable method for the treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy, which can significantly improve the functions of the limbs and cervical spine.
