Abstract:Objective To explore the feasibility and superiority of bilateral column screws combined with anatomical locking plate in the treatment of distal humeral fractures. Methods From January 2016 to may 2018, 12 patients with distal humeral fracture were treated in the Department of orthopaedic trauma, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, with bilateral column screws combined with anatomical locking plate. The time of fracture healing, the occurrence of complications and the clinical efficacy score of Mayo Elbow function score (MEPs) at the last follow-up were recorded . Results 12 patients were followed up for 12-18 months. The average time of fracture healing was 14 weeks. There was no failure of internal fixation and displacement of fracture. The ROM of elbow joint were 90°~130°,average 112°. The average score of MEPs was 90, and the excellent and good rate was 95%. Conclusion The treatment of distal humeral fracture with bilateral column screws and anatomical locking plate can provide reliable and stable fixation, allow early functional exercise, and obtain satisfactory elbow joint function.
