Abstract:Osseous metastasis is a common complication of cancer, and metastatic tumors are most commonly found in spinal column. Most patients with spinal metastasis are in their middle and terminal stage, and their main clinical manifestation is severe pain. In severe cases, pathological vertebral compression fractures occur and the compression of the tumor could cause neuromuscular malfunctions. The therapy for spinal metastatic cancer is mostly palliative treatment, aiming to alleviating pain and improving life quality. With the continuous development of medical level, the treatment of spinal metastatic tumors has been greatly improved. At present, minimally invasive treatment has become a common treatment owning to its advantages of good analgesic effect, little surgical trauma, and few postoperative complications. Based on the above, this paper will review the current status of minimally invasive therapy for spinal metastatic tumors.
