Abstract:Abstract: [Objective] To explore the clinical effect of percutaneous foraminal technique in the treatment of multi segment lumbar spinal nerve root canal stenosis. [Methods] From February 2014 to May 2015, 364 patients with multi segment lumbar spinal nerve root canal stenosis were selected and decompression and nerve root release were performed at the entrance and exit of the nerve root canal by using the technology of percutaneous foramen. The patients were followed up for more than 5 years, and the general data, perioperative data and visual analog scale (VAS), Japan Orthopaedic Association (JOA), Oswestry disability index (ODI) at different times were counted. 5 years after surgery is to evaluate the overall effect of patients. [Results] All patients successfully completed the operation without serious complications. The average operation time was (57.62 ± 8.31) min, the average intraoperative blood loss was (9.28 ± 2.53) ml, and the average hospital stay was (4.52 ± 1.63) d. All patients were followed up for an average of (5.71 ± 0.63) years. During the follow-up period, there was no serious complication requiring second revision operation. Compared with before operation, the patients'' VAS score, JOA low back and leg pain score, ODI index, bony and soft lateral recess angle were significantly improved at 7 days, 3 months, 1 year and 5 years after operation (P < 0.05). At 5 years after operation, according to the standard of MacNab, the excellent and good rate of operation was 96.15% (350 / 364). [Conclusion] According to the 5-year follow-up, it is reliable to treat the multi segment lumbar spinal nerve root canal stenosis with the technique of percutaneous intervertebral foramen.
