Abstract:【Abstract】Objective To study the clinical effect of Lapidus operation in the treatment of hallux valgus in young patients with systemic ligament relaxation. Methods The clinical data of 24 young patients with hallux valgus from January 2012 to January 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. All patients were treated with Lapidus operation. The AOFAS scores and imaging indexes of the patients before and at the last follow-up were compared. Results All the 24 patients were followed up for an average of (13.5 ± 2.4) months. At the last follow-up, the AOFAS score was (90.3±5.4), which was significantly improved compared with the preoperative score (53.1 ± 9.9); the ima between the first and second metatarsals of the foot weight-bearing position was (6.7 ± 1.8) ° compared with the preoperative score (17.5 ± 2.6) ° and the HVA of hallux valgus angle was (8.8 ± 2.9) ° compared with the preoperative score (36.8 ± 3.7) ° respectively. There were significant differences in AOFAS score, IMA angle and HVA angle between the two groups (P < 0.01). The patients had satisfactory orthopedics, complete remission of symptoms and low recurrence rate. Conclusions Lapidus operation can achieve better clinical effect in young patients with hallux valgus.
