Abstract:Abstract:Postoperative periarticular fractures are a rare but challenging complication of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The complication of postoperative periarticular fractures (PPF) was related to the selected surgical method and the location and size of the bone tunnel. Due to the low incidence of PPF, most of literatures are scattered clinical case reports and few mass reports in clinical practice at present. Clinicians pay little attention to this complication to lead to many deficiencies in understanding it. At the same time, PPF often affect the stability of the knee joint, which even may cause serious surgical failure. Therefore, it is necessary for us to understand the characteristics of PPF and how to choose the appropriate treatment. This review summarizes the epidemiological characteristics, pathogenesis, clinical characteristics, diagnostic methods and treatment methods of periarticular fractures after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, and provides suggestions for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of periarticular fractures after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
