Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the safety of percutaneous endoscopic resection of lumbar disc nucleus pulposus under general anesthesia. Methods:The 75 patients were divided into the local anesthesia group (36 cases) and the general anesthesia group (39 cases) according to the anesthesia method, and the two groups received intervertebral foramen approach, while the general anesthesia group received the operation under the neurophysiological monitoring.VAS score, modified Oswetry score,Disc height,Effective spinal canal rate and operation time of the two groups before and after surgery were compared. The indexes of anesthetic effect, satisfaction, fear and anxiety, adverse reactions and so on were analyzed.Results:Seventy-five patients were followed up for six months or more.VAS score, ODI score,Disc height and Effective spinal canal rate of the two groups showed statistically significant difference before and after surgery (P<0.05), but no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05).There were statistically significant differences between the general anesthesia group and the local anesthesia group in anesthetic effect, satisfaction, fear and anxiety, and adverse reactions (P<0.05).The general anesthesia group had high satisfaction, good anesthetic effect, low fear and anxiety during the operation, and low adverse reaction rate. The difference between the general anesthesia group and the local anesthesia group was statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no neurological complications in both groups. Conclusion:It is safe and effective to treat lumbar disc herniation by percutaneous endoscopic resection of lumbar disc nucleus pulposus under general anesthesia.
