Abstract:[Objective] To study the effect of vertical double locking compression plate on joint recovery and bone netabolism index in patients with humeral shaft lower fracture. [Methods] Retrospective analysis of clinical data of 100 patients with humeral shaft lower fracture treated surgically from February 2015 to February 2018in our hospital, theywere divided into observation group and control group by different internal fixation methods, 50 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with vertical double locking compression plate, the control group was treated with single locking compression plate. The intraoperative and postoperative related indicators, the changes of bone metabolism indexes, Mayo elbow function score, clinical efficacy and complications were compared between the two groups. [Results] There was no significant difference in operation time, intraoperative bleeding volume and hospitalization time between the two groups(P>0.05), the healing time of fracture in observation group was significantly shorter than those in the control group, the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05); at after operation 2, 4 and 12 weeks, the bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP), osteocalcin (BGP) and type 1 procollagen amino-terminal prolonging peptide (P1NP) in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the β-collagen degradation products (β-CTX) were significantly lower than those in the control group, the difference were statistically significant (P < 0.05); at after operation 12 months, the Mayo elbow function score and the excellent and good rate of clinical efficacy in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05); there was no significant difference in the total incidence of delayed union, internal fixation loosening and radial nerve injury between the two groups(P>0.05). [Conclusion] Vertical double locking compression plate is well for humeral shaft lower fracture, which can effectively improve the bone metabolism index and promote the recovery of joint function, it has high clinical application value.
