Abstract:[Objective] To investigate the effect of modified Chevron multiplanar osteotomy combined with soft tissue lysis in the treatment of moderate and severe hallux valgus with increased DMAA angle. [Methods] Forty-eight patients with moderate and severe hallux valgus admitted to Binzhou Medical College Affiliated Hospital were selected from January 2013 to December 2018. All patients were moderate and severe hallux valgus with increased DMAA angle. All patients were treated with modified Chevron multiplanar osteotomy. The AOFAS score, VAS score , imaging results, satisfaction and complications were compared preoperative and postoperative. [Results] After treatment, the total score of AOFAS was higher, and the VAS score was lower. The angle between the first metatarsal bone and the middle line of proximal phalanx (HVA), the angle between the first and second metatarsal trunk (IMA), and the angle of distal metatarsal joint (DMAA) were lower than that before treatment after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01). Satisfaction rate of operation effect was more than 92%. [Conclusions] Modified Chevron multiplanar osteotomy combined with soft tissue lysis for moderate and severe hallux valgus with enlarged DMAA angle is effective and satisfactory, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
