Abstract:To report a case of lower limb swelling caused by femoral vein compression by hip cyst. To provide reference for the diagnosis and treatment of similar diseases by summarizing the experience and literature review. Methods: The diagnosis was confirmed after unilateral hip magnetic resonance imaging examination. The cyst was partially excised for internal drainage by hip arthroscopic surgery and the primary intra-articular causes such as femoroacetabular impingement and labrum injury were treated simutaneously. Then the compression on femoral vein was eliminated and the symptoms were relieved effectively. Results: Hip arthroscopy confirmed the preoperative diagnosis. The groin mass disappeared, the pain symptoms were relieved, the lower limb swelling was relieved, and no recurrence was found in the follow-up. Conclusion: By summarizing the diagnosis and treatment of this case and reviewing the literature, it can be seen that hip arthroscopic surgery can treat the primary intra-articular causes at the same time of cyst excision. It has several advantages such as minimal invasive, safe, effective, rapid recovery, low recurrence.
