Abstract:Objective To investigate the use of Ilizarov external fixation to fuse of the tibial and distraction osteogenesis method for the treatment of talar osteomyelitis. Method from January 2014 to January 2017 during the talus bone necrosis were treated 14 patients were studied, including 9 males and 5 females. 6 patients with postoperative infection of ankle fracture, 5 cases of infection Pilon fracture surgery, 3 patients with postoperative infection of talus fracture, 14 patients had skin ulceration pus persistent symptoms. After treatment, surgical debridement, removal of the talus, tibia complete removal of the lesion, Ilizarov external fixation, postoperative tibial calcaneus gap gradually shortening, pressurized integration, in the first 7 days beginning 1mm per day rate in four bone Distraction, reverse adjustments if necessary, to have clear after bone mineralization, adjusted to bilateral lower extremity length. Continue to wear external fixator to the bone completely mineralized. Results 14 patients were skin was completely healed sinus infection without recurrence, X-ray shows a good integration of the tibia with an average duration of treatment was 16.93 months. Conclusion tibia with Ilizarov distraction method for talar osteomyelitis fusion has definite therapeutic effect.
